Aerospace Engineering
Students designed a high-efficiency Mars lander, prioritizing safety and innovative technology. Unlike other teams, they chose a cone/hemisphere shape with a trim wing, a liquid bi-propellant rocket engine, and a titanium alloy structure. The lander also featured a Disk-Gap-Band parachute for controlled descent.
Data Science
The team collaborated with Colorado State University to develop a classification model predicting forest cover types for Roosevelt National Forest and beyond. Using AWS SageMaker and S3 storage, they processed multiple algorithms on ml.t2 instances to refine predictions.
Healthcare
Students developed a herbal drink to relieve dysmenorrhea, with research showing most survey respondents preferred tea over medication for period cramps. The drink includes cranberry, mulberry leaves, astragalus membranaceus, jujube, female ginseng, and ginger for natural pain relief.
Mechanical Engineering
Students designed the Ferrari 523 Ravenna, the first electric Ferrari, featuring a 210kWh Solid State Battery for enhanced energy density, reliability, and faster charging. They uniquely amplified motor sounds to maintain Ferrari's iconic roar and stood out as the only team to present a complete 3D rendering of their design.
UI/UX Design
Students designed a prototype for Uber Teens - a version of the Uber ride sharing app catered specifically to teenagers. The team’s prototype included Rebu, a pigeon mascot meant to guide the user through the app's features including a speedometer where the rider can limit their ride’s speed. The speedometer also notifies parents when the ride goes above a certain speed.
Management Consulting
Students suggested that Tesla faces two key issues in the current market: a highly competitive industry and the fact that they are not releasing models fast enough. The team’s winning strategies for Tesla’s long term growth were for the company to expand Into India's market through a joint venture with Reliance Industries Limited and to utilize digital Twin Technology.
